I am Here to Listen
I am working with Attento Counseling. I am located in our Alpharetta office, located at 6230 Shiloh RD STE 140, Alpharetta, 30005.
The job of the counselor is to help the client discover the cause of the symptoms, and collaboratively find solutions. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
I promise to work with you, in a non-judgmental egalitarian relationship. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Therapy sessions are held with both couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
I believe each person is unique. People come to counseling for a variety of reasons. You may be able to identify a symptom, but you are not sure the cause. All you know is you want to feel better. It is my job as a Psychotherapist is, to give a safe environment and help you recognize the cause of your pain. Then we can work together to find a solution that will improve the quality of your life. We do so in a collaborative and egalitarian relationship. My role is not to be directive, instead help the client discover their own strengths and discover how to use those strengths to deal with the issues at hand.
My education at the University of West Georgia’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program has given me the ability to practice counseling but my degree earned from the University of “Hard Knocks” has made me a better counselor. I choose counseling after a career that included being a CEO, National Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and street sales man. I have raised a family, ran a business, dealt with unemployment, career change, bereavement and trauma. No one’s existence is without pain and suffering. No one is entitled to an uncomplicated life. How we handle those complications will determine our level of happiness.
“In reality pain and struggle are unavoidable . . . . I was so caught up in playing the victim . . . . Oh how wrong I was and I'm so happy I see that now. No more . . . walls of limitations built by my own mind. . . .”
Fees range from $75 to $125 for a 1 hour session. Magellin, BlueCross BlueSheild and Aetna are accepted at Pathways Center for Psychotherapy. If you don't have insurance and think you can't afford therapy, during this pandemic I am understanding and willing to work on a sliding scale. Furthermore MWel has special programs that can offer low cost insurance alternatives.
